Breaking Free from Boxes with E=mc²

E=mc² is probably the most recognizable equation in the world. We all know it, even if we don’t fully understand it. For me, it represents more than just physics; it’s a symbol of my journey. Back in school, math was the subject I struggled to confront. I was a student-athlete, and the focus was always on my athletic performance. I confined myself to that role, leaning heavily into the expectations others had of me, and somewhere along the way, I convinced myself that I wasn’t a “math and science person.”

Years later, I began to see things differently. I’d boxed myself in, but it wasn’t just me; it was outside influences too. I’d found my comfort zone on the court and the field, while others found theirs in equations and theories. It took me years to realize that we’re all just tapping into different sides of the same coin. It clicked one day that when I was playing basketball, I was using physics intuitively. It’s like I’d been doing math and science all along without even knowing it.

That’s where Onslawt comes in. I decided to put E=mc² on a line of hats and tees—so you can learn what I did not, that science was for me too. We are told that math and science are for one group, while sports and art are for another. But here’s the truth: if you’re on the basketball courts, moving, creating, finding your flow, you’re already living these lessons. You just need the confidence to recognize it.

Dive into the science behind Kyrie Irving's incredible skills on the court in our latest video! Discover how Irving's precision shooting and electrifying crossovers aren't just about talent but are grounded in physics. We'll break down the biomechanics and physics that make his moves so unstoppable. Learn how he harnesses angular momentum, leverage, and force to leave defenders in the dust and nail those clutch shots. Perfect for fans, athletes, and anyone fascinated by the intersection of sports and science. Join us for a riveting exploration that will enhance your appreciation of the game and elevate your own skills. Watch now and see basketball through a whole new lens!

Maybe this design inspires someone out there to go deeper, pick up a science book, or see themselves in a new light. Maybe it challenges them to step out of the box. Because I think we need more people who understand the building blocks of life, whether they’re on the court or in the lab.

Check out the Ni Ni collection. Sure, we could’ve gone to Bloomingdale’s, selling these hats for $500, but that’s not where we belong. Onslawt is for the streets—the streets will be the judge. So, is it genius or insanity to throw a physics equation on a hat? That’s up to you.
