During the turbulent years of the 70s, 80s and 90s, The Bronx born visionary of The mindset and brand Onslawt, Gordy came to a question in his life......"Am I a creator or Am I created"?
The Answer came simultaneously as the Question. Coming from the School of Hard Knocks, Gordy stresses the importance of self belief and believes that we all possess an inner focus that when times get tough we can rely on our inner strength to get us through.
With experience comes wisdom and Gordy has plenty of experiences.
A division 1 college basketball player and a short stint of professional basketball in Europe, Gordy lived out his childhood dream and became a New York City Fireman working his whole career in Harlem. He says growing up in The Bronx in the early 70s in a time" Deemed The Bronx is Burning" "my neighborhood always seemed to be on fire everyday whether it was a tenement building or a car.......those Big Burly Men with Handlebar Mustaches Always Answered the Bell and came to save the day!
And Now Gordy's love for fashion and creativity brings you here to his next chapter......ONSLAWT.
But he quickly dismisses himself as a designer of the cloths. " I'm just a man with philosophical perspectives and a shared interest in self Empowerment and the betterment of the human race and sees T-shitrs, hats and hoodies as a canvas or a subway car to spray paint my creativity and the Onslawt message on".
